Made From Scratch is a bluegrass gospel band based in Albany Georgia. Made From Scratch began in 2001 when Tim Brown asked long time friend Karl Harris to help him start the group. Tim and Karl had played and sang gospel together for many years with Karl playing guitar/mandolin and singing lead/baritone, while Tim played harmonica and sang lead/tenor/baritone. Tim asked Mike Amos to join and play banjo and sing tenor. Mike recruited Todd Johnson to play lead guitar. Skip Peek then came on board to play rhythm guitar. Clint Hardin was later coerced into joining to play upright bass and Neal Hardin followed to play lead guitar. Todd switched to fiddle and occasionally sings bass.
In 2004, Tim would relocate to South Carolina while encouraging the group to continue. Clint took over singing baritone and Neal began to sing some lead/tenor. John Holley then joined the group to play dobro.
In 2005, Made From Scratch released their first CD entitled "Original Recipe" The CD contains 14 original songs written by members of the band.
The mission of Made From Scratch has always been to present the gospel of Jesus Christ in the form of bluegrass gospel with the hope that those who know Him will be blessed, and those who don’t know Him will be drawn by the Spirit to accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior. .
